Dr. (Prof.) SVS Deo is a highly distinguished Surgical Oncologist with over 35 years of extensive clinical, academic, and leadership experience in the field of cancer surgery. Renowned for his precision, consistency, and patient-centric approach, he has played a significant role in shaping modern surgical oncology practices in India through decades of high-volume clinical work, academic excellence, and institutional leadership.

Currently associated with Max Healthcare, Dr. Deo has held several prestigious positions during his illustrious career. Most notably, he served as Head of the Department of Surgical Oncology at AIIMS and

the National Cancer Institute (NCI), New Delhi (2017–2024), where he was instrumental in strengthening organ-based cancer care, multidisciplinary treatment models, and advanced oncologic surgical pathways.

Over the years, Dr. Deo has had a long and impactful academic tenure at AIIMS, New Delhi, serving as Professor of Surgical Oncology (2011–2017), Additional Professor (2009–2011), Associate Professor (2003–2007), and Assistant Professor (1995–2003). Earlier in his career, he gained valuable international experience as Senior Consultant at King Fahad Hospital, Dammam, Saudi Arabia (2007–2009), further enriching his clinical perspective and global exposure in cancer care.
